Legend of Grimrock 2 is a first person dungeon adventure video game developed by Almost Human for PC. It is the sequel to Legend of Grimrock, it is a real time grid based RPG game. This game focuses on exploration, puzzles, and combat. Legend of Grimrock is inspired by games like Dungeon Master and Eye of the Beholder.
Just as the sequels to these games, Legend of Grimrock 2 expands from one dungeon to a larger world outside of that. The sequel features a mysterious island rather than the Mount Grimrock dungeon.
Just like in the first game of the series, Legend of Grimrock 2 needs the player to create their own group of one to four characters that vary in races and classes. Even though it’s still the same concept the character development system has been greatly expanded. It includes five races over four last time, and eight classes, previously three.
There are also four different stats that include strength, dexterity, vitality, and willpower. Two bonus traits can also be added now during character creation.
The five races include human, minotaur, lizard man, insectoid, and ratling. Humans surprisingly are the most adaptable race and are capable of succeeding at any profession.
Humans can start with the quick learner and skilled traits which allow them to gain +10% experience and +1 skill point at character creation. Minotaurs are best for the front line because they’re super strong , but don’t expect them to hit as often or be any good at magic.
They come with +5 strength, -4 dexterity, +4 vitality, -3 willpower, and +25% food consumption. They can start with bonus traits of Head Hunter, which gives them +1 damage for every skull in their inventory, and Rage, which gives them +10 strength when under 20% HP.
Lizardmen are quick and agile creatures who excel in dexterous classes but again, not in magic. They include +2 dexterity, -2 willpower, and +25% resistance to all elements. Their bonus traits are Endure Elements, which adds another +25% resistance to all elements, and Fat Metabolism, which regenerate health and energy 30% faster but food consumption increases by 20%, healing potions are also twice as effective.
Insectoids are the ones skilled in magic and can also fight hand to hand combat. This strange alien race comes with +1 strength, -2 dexterity, -1 vitality, +2 willpower, and are 50% less likely to take limb damage. Their unique racial traits are Chitin armor, +10 protection, and Quick, all actions are 10% faster.
Ratlings are a new race. They are also skilled is various dexterity classes just like the lizardmen. They include -4 strength, +2 dexterity, +15 kg carrying capacity, and immunity to disease. Unfortunately ratlings only have one racial trait, mutation. Mutation adds +1 to a random stat on level up.
The classes in this game differ from the first game because any class can learn any skill. Any frontline fighter is capable of doing magic if they have the appropriate skills and wizards can wear heavy armor or use weapons. The different classes are alchemist, barbarian, battle mage, farmer, fighter, knight, rogue, and wizard.
One of the most-played action role-playing dungeon crawl games, the just released Grimrock II is guaranteed leave many of our gamer fans watering for more!
