The farther the player makes it through Hand of Fate, the more cards they will earn which allows them to specialize their deck of cards. The dealer character also has a deck of cards to himself that he draws from to bring other encounters and monsters into Hand of Fate.
Story Mode is featured in Hand of Fate and it involves the player defeating monsters. There is a total of twelve monsters that will be drawn from the deck of the dealer for the player. In order for the player to draw the next card and monster they must defeat the one drawn before that. If a players struggling to take down a certain monster they can’t skip it. Among the several monster cards placed down by the dealer are encounter cards. Encounter cards in Hand of Fate offer up different events. Some of these events involve meeting and getting advice from non player characters. Events in Hand of Fate could also take the player to in game shops where they can buy cards for the battle with the boss.
Every move the player makes in Hand of Fate to reveal a match uses some of the player’s food source. Food is restored in some events and they may even reward the player with gold or extra health. While in the third person view the player is able to attack the player and dodge the counter attacks. Any damage taken from the enemy is also taken in the card form of the game.
